Mixed Tape.

After some crazy winds last Monday here in Michigan, I swore my house was going to blow over.  And I may have overreacted just a little bit when I called my parents to say, "MY HOUSE IS FALLING APART!".  The wind had gotten under a piece of siding on the side of my house, there was a good 3x3 foot square just not attached to the house at all anymore.  I was afraid that if it kept going, it was just going to continue pulling more siding off the house all down the side.

Luckily the bf was over and was able to put my little house back together.  How you ask?  We taped it of course!  Just your usual mix of duct tape, electrical tape, and medical tape. Ha.  Never in a million years would I have thought that tape would hold, but  it sure did, through wind and rain until yesterday when my Dad came over and nailed it back in.  Hooray!

Let's just say, I knew going into this that the outside of the house needed the most help.  Heck I had to put a new roof on before they would even give me insurance on the thing!  I know new siding is something I'll get around too, I just panicked when I thought I was going to have to do it now.  So naturally I've been perusing the net to pick my brain for siding options and other little ways to spruce up my baby on the outside.

There's just something about a flag flying outside that makes a house all the more lovable.  Don't you think?

Okay so this picture has no siding but I couldn't help but share it.  Kudos to this family, I am love, love, loving the chartreuse all over.  Best part is, this stuff can all be changed so easily when they change their minds in a few years.  Just a few coats of paint and this view would be completely different.

Oh man, what do I even say about this green house.  If this was going to be my forever house, or I lived on the beach, I'd be sold.  Probably not the smartest option if I plan on selling down the road though.

Arts and crafts style, wood doors, and muted siding are always a classic look on homes.  How will I ever decide what to do with mine?  I'm just thankful I've got some extra time to think about it, since my siding hung in there.  Until then, I may just make this week of blogging an outdoor week.  What else can I do to add some curb appeal without the expense of new siding?
