Most definitely not. These halfsies were done with purpose and I'm loving the results. What a simple way to add some interest to a room. No need to mess with chair molding in this look, just paint one color, tape off your line, and paint the other color. Looks clean and fancy or bold and edgy. You pick the palette for your desired results. If a solid wall of a bold color is too much for you, just paint half, or five eighths, or whatever other crazy measurement you'd like. This works well with any color mixed with white, but I'm all for mixing two colors. For proof, scroll to the bottom, it's my high school very bright version of this first picture!
I wasn't afraid of color in high school, thankfully my parents weren't either. My bedroom below, the day before they turned it into the guestroom and painted over my alien green and sea blue walls. The colors were split with chair rail molding but I'm loving this look without it!
Would you try this or do you think people would just ponder why you were missing the chair rail?
