Clean Clutter.

Most interior photographs are beautifully clean with everything down to the prefect vintage book in just the right place.  What I want to see are a few pictures of these spaces after the photo shoots, while they are being lived in and making these messy.  Maybe they are clean because the house is done and they don't have five million projects happening anymore, I just know my house is a disaster zone some days and I'd like to think I'm not the only one with this problem.
What I need is to be able to effortlessly organize clutter in my home, that way when parents, two aunts and an uncle drop in (ah, this happened yesterday!) my house looks just as gorgeous as any of these pictures!  I love having company but I also think its crazy to run around your house and pick up before people come over.  The only solutions, either don't keep extra junk or make it pretty clutter!

Trays, bowls, old silver sets, wire boxes you are my new best friends.  The key to all of these things is that you can still see all the stuff you love, so you don't just forget about it for the next 5 years.  Then when people come over you can contain your mess and hopefully do this while its just you too (that would be the smart thing to do, then you never have to worry about cleaning for company).

What trick are you using to make your clutter pretty?  Or do you just really like to clean and find hiding spaces for extra things when people come over, I won't judge you for this, I have a ball of sheets in my coat closet right now! (Thanks for not opening that door guys!)  In my defense I didn't put them there, but I also haven't thought to move them out of there in awhile either!  Whatever route you choose organizing always feels good, so go get to decluttering (Mom!).
