After hanging out with the adorable 2 month old twins at our local pizza place, I just couldn't help but think of all the cuteness that designing a space for two entails. It's almost too easy sometimes, two twin beds on either side of a nightstand and statement lamp. Sounds easy because it is, but why do we love this look so much? Well, this kind of layout is generally pretty symmetrical and symmetry is always easy on the eyes.
There are lots of inspiration pictures on having two twin beds for little ones, with lots of pink and whimsical details. But all of these pictures I felt were rooms that could grow with the kids and later be used as guest rooms with little or no changes. It's easy to swap out bedding and a little artwork as things change but if you can avoid it you probably don't want a complete bedroom overhaul by the time they get to 6th grade (or earlier?!).
This is a great solution too even if your kids are a couple of years apart, I think it would be so fun to share a room! I just think of Michelle and Stephanie Tanner on Full House and imagine them having so much fun in their own little world. I don't know that I'd want to share a room with my brother but with a sister, definitely!

most kids are spoiled these days with rooms of their own. families seem to be smaller these days as well. we definitely didn't have as much "stuff". it was nice having a "roommate" growing up. someone to talk with before falling asleep, someone to kick, hug, steal the covers. even less space in half a double bed than a whole twin by oneself.
