Room for Rain Boots.

I think I slept through the wettest part of today, but I'll keep my wellies nearby just in case this gloomy day decides to stick around.  It's days like this that I would really enjoy having a mudroom other than the stair landing by my side door.   Sometimes you have to make something out of nothing, and I definitely needed to make a create a mudroom from about 2 square feet. It ends up being my catch all for everything when I walk in the door, shoes, purse, coat, any extra bags I have, etc.  It's okay to be a catch all spot as long as you have it organized like the fun little mudroom entry ways.

This room above is the epitome of creating something out of nothing, or more like designating space for certain things.  It's part of a regular living area but everything has its place.  As long as it has a home, it's not really out of place is it?

For being so small my space holds a lot, but it's not up to its full potential.  I'm thinking I need to add some wall hooks, and a spot specifically for my rain and snow boots (notice all these pictures have added their rain boots as a finishing touch).  Do you have the mudroom of your dreams or are you trying to make it work with what you have like me?
