It's the most wonderful time of year.... for two reasons. Number one reason, Christmas. Duh. Number two, Pantone just announced their new color of the year! Drum roll please (this could be a lot less exciting if you already know, so just go with it)....the 2013 Pantone color of the year is EMERALD GREEN!!! Considering I'm in love with any shade of green, I'm a pretty happy camper at the moment.
Although come to think of it, I don't know that I've ever been disappointed by a color they've chosen. After all, there is a reason this blog is called Love Hue Design. Simply put, I am crazy in love with color. Anyways, what do you think, will this color spread like wildfire in the coming year?
Unless you're a U of M fan, I can't see anyone really hating the color green. It's feels fresh and organic and brings a sense of life into a room. I love green because it brings a bright pop of the outdoors in. New grass, spring leaves, and maybe, just maybe I'm bias because it reminds me of the that big 'ol block 'S' that I can't help but love.
Loving it paired with whites and naturals or other various shades of green.
It's actually a kind of subtle color in my opinion. Imagine if all the greens in these rooms were replaced with orange. Now that would be bright! This emerald shade of green feels new and natural to me, not over the top. So let's hear the unbiased opinions, did Pantone hit it on the nose again? Or will you be avoiding this color at all costs?
