Gray has been showing the design world who's boss for the last few years. It's all gray-t (ha!) and I'm definitely a huge fan but I think it's taken a huge toll on our previous favorite color, chocolate. Clients today are leaning towards darker shades of gray for their upholstery, leaving brown in the dust.
I'm here to tell you it's okay to stick with chocolate if that's what you like. And there is no need to run out and buy a new sofa just because the trends have changed. Newsflash, the trends are constantly changing. It's okay to stay on trend with smaller updates!
The rich chocolate color helps to warm up a space and brings out the orange tones in this surrounding furniture. Break it up with colorful pillows so you aren't left with a large brown monster taking over the living room.
Oh and did I mention how well browns and grays compliment each other. Just look at that sofa bring those gray walls to life. Mix them together for a more subtle contemporary vibe.
See what did I tell you? No worries on that brown sofa, go with your gut.
Or ask your favorite designer. :) Chances are it's do-able, it is still a neutral after all.
